WEEK 6 (23/04/18 - 27/04/18)




Monday

Today, I have rehearsed with Moneth on her collaboration song by using a backing track and a live performed electric guitar played by me.

Here, I have attached the video of the rehearsal of today and also, Sifa was there helping us to get some melodies for the guitar using the melisma of her voice, which was quite interesting:





Wednesday


Today, I have rehearsed with Ashley as part of her collaboration.  I am playing the guitar in this song, but in this rehearsal, as the piano player did not come, I took the role of playing the piano. This was the first rehearsal and I think that this will also help me to collaborate with her in one of my songs which is very important because she helps me to get in tune, she is really good on it.

Also, I have rehearsed with Paulo and Ashley, for Paulo's collaboration which is going to be a  cover of the song "In my blood" by Shawn Mendez but it is going to be performed by Ashley, Melika, Paulo and me, but Paulo as the main vocal.

Friday
Unfortunately, I could not get the audios of today's rehearsal but I have got the screenshot where it's shown that today we got good comments about the rehearsal and also, there were some audios that I could not download.

However, today, we worked really hard in Ashley's but also, in Malika's song and my song.

We have created a small band where we are going to collaborate each other.

On Wednesday we rehearsed the first time, but today we showed a good advance and improvement.

So, at the moment the small band is formed by Kiano, Melika, Ashley, Paulo and me.

For the next week, we need to work more on other's songs to learn them.

The good point about this group collaboration is that we have got really good feedback and ideas from each other and also a good attitude about everyone's composition.


REFLECTION.

For the next week, I hope that we are going to get the songs completely rehearsed. So, we can be prepared to get the performance outstanding and confidently.

Half term holiday advance

In this half term, I will be working on my song "I wanna know you". 4th/april/2018 Today, I recorded the introduction of the song, but first of all, I remembered one of the tips from one of literature review which says that always we have to record first the instruments with louder frequency, but I started recording the base of the guitar and then I started adding the instruments. This song is in pop but I will add the reggaeton patterns at the chorus. This is a recording of the introduction of the song: The following audio is the same recording but with the effects on it. I have added EQ, Compressor, Pedals, reverb, delay and a phaser to create that sound: the next audio is the intro with the bass melody and the piano melody. Bernhoft who uses the looping on his music to creates the melody in every single instrument. he uses a dynamical and an interesting range of different acoustic instruments, such as the bass, the percussion, the hooks and the second voices. Also, he uses his voice to create repetitive phrases that contain like a Dj effect at the end of the phrase of the hook. He uses the loop pedal very well to create a live recording which is very interesting because he recreates an acoustic kind of instruments just with the guitar and his voices.
