INTRODUCTION
The following FMP is aimed to develop, to experiment, to research and to achieve an analytical investigation of how Latin-based styles of music fit with other genres and styles of music. Which also, it will serve as a source of information and inspiration to the public who is interested in this topic or has a similar research from their point of interest.
However, my aim is to realise more practice, to get a higher level of quality in producing music and collaborating with others. It is very important to highlight that I would really like to create an EP, which It will be an evidence of all my progress as a music student. Also, researching more how I could fit my background with another kind of musical backgrounds and cultures.
The objective of this EP is to improve my skills and to increase my own compositions with other's collaboration as a good ingredient of enrichment and improvement. Also, I will focus on creating more well-worked or professional tracks related to a particular topic of the album which it will be “Feelings of a typical teenager”.
The Latin music as a whole subject is the mixture of components which are built from different rhythmical directions, harmonies and ideas which I will use as an inspiration to create my compositions.
The development of creativity in composition to help other's work is also a really important part of my project. This helps me to gain participation in others' project giving ideas and feedback to help them and to help me to improve the quality of my ideas.
I would like to put myself into uncommon instruments at the time of performing such as the implementation of wind instruments and also percussion, for example, the congas to play a song in salsa. Therefore, I am planning to perform my compositions as long as it really fits with the genres that I am experimenting with.
There are two specific points that we will infer from this investigation. First, I want to be a motivation for others to get themselves into information about the Latin music and also, to give the initiative to learn the Spanish language. In my opinion, I think that the interaction with catchy songs in Spanish will create that interest in learning the language as well.
The popular music is becoming more global which therefore has been influencing the social media and fashion. However, the Latin and Spanish culture has been promoted by this kind of grand-hits songs virilized around the world challenging the English speaking of popular music and mixing the perspectives that the listeners have about this language. Also, when I say that I would really like to stimulate the learning of Spanish language, I am basically saying that it is really pleasant to understand the meaning of the lyrics of the songs you might like. Therefore, It is interesting to promote the bilingualism.
The second point relates to the composition techniques that the Latin music might offer as inspiration, so that, I have looked for information about others’ opinion about what they feel when they listen to Latin music and the positive feedback was really motivational because it is good to see when your likes and ideas might be pleasant to others.
This FMP is also looking at other’s opinions, thoughts and reactions that they might have about the topic that I will be talking about in this project.
It is inspiring to give a value to the music that comes from my background doing this research, but also it is very important that people explore new techniques or ways of composition based on the Latin music or the structure that It has. Therefore, I really give a value to the music that I have been learning and exploring. I think that the main idea of why I have chosen to explore why the Latin music fit with other kinds of genres and styles is because it also works as a mixture of the significant impact that this gives when it is mixed with others genres and languages.

CONTEXT
This FMP will be based on my Latin background. However, I will analyse the musical genres that I am interested in which are the reggaeton, salsa and Latin trap. But also the musical genres outside from my backgrounds such as the reggae, American pop and British trap.
As a songwriter, I will develop my songs fitting them to the acoustic guitar, piano, synthesizers, wind instruments, percussion, drum kits, trap bass and my voice. The reason for using these instruments is because some of them are used to compose Latin music, but also reggae, pop and trap. The idea is to experiment how it will work when I create the music on logic as my main support of ideas.
I want to see how the way of using the mixture of rhythms and melodies of those types of music will affect my compositions and also how this will help me to achieve what I want to achieve. I want to get the difference between sounds and the recognisable mixture of genres in the rhythm of my songs.
I will not plan an specific result to how my songs are going to sound like. Nevertheless, I do want to create songs that transmit rhymical and innovating beats and sounds with syncopation.
I want to structure my songs based in the context of the Latin songs. Basically, most of them relate to women and love, but also parties, street life and spite.
The project is aimed to produce music with lyrics in English and Spanish to contrast more the difference between what singing in Spanish transmits and what singing in English transmits. And as a result, to analyse how the interpretation of the lyrics tense to feel.
My skills set are going to be improved by interacting with particular types of music. when I try to compose music based on rhythms and sounds with significant differences help me to increase a wider knowledge in developing music using other methods. For example, recordings an acoustic guitar and putting effects on its sound to create a psychedelic-electric guitar for composing reggae or putting less bass on the kit drums giving them more brightness to make more reggaeton music. All this kind of things that I will learn by interacting in logic to create music is the way as I will be more creative and analytical about how my own style could be and how I will express originality.
Also, I will find a development of my skills set in the sense of how I will get the mixture of different styles of music based on their rhythms and changes of tempo using similar BPM. This will help me to improve my musical skills of counting the tempo rightly, even if the rhythms are with the same BPM but with different syncopation and intensity.
Also, the experimentation of delayed sounds with reverb and the bright beats of percussion in my songs will give a modern and contemporaneous sound.
Basically, all this explanation is to achieve more innovating music, not by retaking created music in the past.

OUTLINE RESEARCH PLAN
My research is based on the next following points:
- How the Latin music started to mix with the music from other countries. This is with the objective of knowing why it fits really good by mixing these styles of music and also, I will take my cases studies from that research to base my composition in a more concrete direction.
- Researching how to fit my compositions based on the following genres: Reggaeton, reggae, Latin pop, American pop, Salsa, Latin Trap, American and British Trap.
-
- Investigating how to improve the composition. Basically, I would like to experiment Latin styles with lyrics in Spanish language and English language but using them into reggae, pop and salsa.
- Investigating the techniques of composition used in reggaeton, pop music, reggae and trap music. This will influence my work because I am aiming to mix rhythms that those different genres have.
- Looking for different kinds of options to edit vocals in logic by tutorials or researching in books of music production.
- Looking at the onomatopoeia used on most of lyrics that very famous songs have such as (BUM BUM, TAM TAM, TRAAA, etc.). Sometimes it creates more impact and emotion that gives attraction to the song on the listener’s ears.
- Rehearsing in collaboration with others to arrange good stuff and seeing how it works. Also, using the production rooms to work on new ideas and projects based on my project and others’ project.
- Investigating, most of the Latin singers that have been known by their international success because they are the most known around the world which is familiar to others as well: Daddy Yankee, Maluma, Don Omar, Ozuna, Nicky Jam and J Balvin in Reggaeton, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Mark Anthony and Maelo Ruiz in Salsa.
- Investigating the composition techniques of the reggae and its instrumentation.
- Doing a research about the instrumentation of salsa and what the main used techniques of compositions are to this particular musical genre.
- Doing a research about what the instrumentation for pop and reggaeton and Trap is so that the urban and the popular music have a similar instrumentation because it is more modern music.

CASE STUDIES
CASE NUMBER ONE
I will study Justin Quiles because he is an artist that makes music in reggaeton and also, he has made some covers of his songs in trap and reggae version which I will take a reference to create my song that is going to be in Trap and Reggae.
CASE NUMBER TWO
I will study the pop songs made in collaboration with Latin singers and also the group of CNCO who have made songs in reggaeton with lyrics in English. I will study their music to create my song that is going to be in pop and Reggaeton.
CASE NUMBER THREE
I will create a cover of Billie Jean in salsa version, so I will look for some covers already made on youtube, but I will take ideas from those references to create my own backing track on logic.
Methodology
During this weeks, I will focus on writing the lyrics of the songs, creating structure and recordings that I have in mind. But also, to find the way of combining the genres that will fit better to every single track. I will divide my work into three important parts which are academic, the practice in Logic Pro X to get the composition of the material and the rehearsals.
I will use the most of my available time to develop melodies and recordings of my songs. Also the arrangement of rehearsals and help from my classmates who I am going to collaborate with.
The way as I am planning to achieve my recordings is by going all the way through rehearsals and recordings of the rehearsals, because every time that I will rehearsal my songs or others songs as part of the collaboration, I will get a different result. Which is a benefit because new ideas come suddenly every time that the songs are rehearsed.
In addition, the feedback that I will get from my tutors and my classmates is so important to complete the targets of my project. To share the progress of my ideas by bouncing my work on logic and also filming my rehearsals will definitely help to show myself and to my tutors the way as I am doing things and improving them.

Timeline
Week #1 - I will look at what kind of music I will work with, and how I am going to achieve the fusion of rhythms. Also, I will look at what kind of sources will be useful for me to take as a reference to base my compositions.
Week #2 - I will start composing my songs on Logic, and I will start to talk with some classmates about the collaboration and how it is going to work.
Week #3- I will start to rehearse in the band workshops and also, I will start to arrange some session with the production students to help to record the vocals of my songs.
Week #4 - I will focus this week on doing research about the Latin music and how this was mixed with others genres. Also, I will look at how the Latin music was internationalised and it became so commercial.
Half-Term - In this time, I will use the time to complete my songs on logic and also to do some research about the composition of reggae and the composition in pop.
Week #5 - In this week, I will start to create my own version of Billie Jean in salsa version and also, I will start to rehearse with the other guys, who I should have committed already to do the collaboration.
Week #6 - I will look at more research on the topic of my project and also I will show my project and the advance I have had in the Mid-point presentation. Also to take advantage of the time to rehearse with the guys who I am doing the collaboration. In addition, I will try to get the feedback from the teachers about my tracks to know what is left and how they could sound better.
Week #7 - I will finish the recording of all the vocals of my songs and I will finish editing my tracks to use them as backing tracks for the day of the performance.
Week #8 - I will focus this week in rehearsing as much as I can, and also update my weekly blogs of progress. I have to rehearse a lot because I will need to be really prepared and in tune to do an amazing performance.
Week #9 -Revising with all my tutor that the songs and the collaboration are ready to perform and also to check that the songs are ready to publish them. I will need to be aware of the tutor's feedback.
Week #10 - I will give the best that I could give on the stage and also, I will show to myself that I can do things without feeling shy and that I can be confident on the stage, so that, one of my worst problems is that I feel so nervous at the time of performing. Suddenly, I cannot breathe, so, I will need to work in breathing exercises to get a better confidence on the stage.
Week # 11- To have ready all my written work with all my songs realised and all my specific points required accomplished.
