week 5

Song of the week: No te olvidare / I will not forget you

For this week I have not done any report of college work because I have received a very bad, sad and devastating new.

My cousin was raped, tortured, murdered and used by a criminal gang in Colombia. I know this is part of my personal life, but since I can not be there to support my family, I have decided to make a song in honour of her. Send this song to my country to be reproduced by the media as a message of encouragement and resignation in the face of what happened.

This atrocious fact has been a cause of offence and concern in the city of Cartago, Valle del Cauca, Colombia where the murder of my cousin took place. In addition, there have been marches and much controversy.

However, I have decided to add this song to my album, because I think it is worthwhile to convey my message and keep in mind that this pain was the inspiration to compose this song called 'I will not forget you'. I have composed it since Monday of this week to send it quickly to her funeral.

Honestly, I do not want to give details of how I wrote this song or what reference to use. I only did it with the feeling of pain and sadness that I carry inside. I've also taken a few days out of college to advance the project and make more music but for now, I need a space to help me a little with this atrocious fact.

I never planned to make a song as sad as this, but my pain can be really shown through the lyrics and the mood that this song transmits very deeply.

Here I have attached the screenshot of what I have done with the production of the track and also the final bounce that I have sent to my country. Moreover, I have attached the lyrics too:

And this is the video that I have done in her memory. I know this is very personal pain and everything but it is now part of my album and therefore part of my project. I do not like this song because what it brings is very sad and painful but I have respect in her memory:

REFLECTION OF THIS WEEK: Even if I am living one of the toughest moments of my life, I have to keep moving forward this project and completing my album.
