Today, I have started to compose a song in Am key which talks about something sneaky. To be clearer, I wanted a song that talks about doing something secretly with a girl who has a boyfriend that is not giving her enough to make her happy and she prefers me to make intimate things in secret that none imagine that we were doing. So, basically, I think that Am scale fits very well in this song as the vibe that the progression of chords can transmit is very suspicious as the feeling of the song.

 Today, I have started to rehearse this song in my room to see how I can fit the lyrics with the melody that I have on mind. Also, I can see that the feeling of this song is more for a type of Dembow or reggaeton genre.

 I have been researching in the artist's songs that I like and I have found a song that I will use a reference to make this song:


The way as this artist sings the song is very direct to the message that he wants to send to her to escape with him. I have chosen this song because it has a similar topic of what I want to talk about in my song too, so I will create the instrumental of my song trying to transmit the feeling of risk and danger, something suspicious and upbeat to make it more interesting.

 Today I have started to produce the track of this song. The idea that I had was to compose something very rhymical but speedy, maybe the use of strong hit-hat and kick will make the impact of this song.

The instrumental is not finished yet, but the idea is there. I think that I have to analyse better the structure of the song and trying to find better harmonies for the chorus and the other verses.

I am planning to do a collaboration with the artist 'Mello' who is a Latin artist in London who I met in an event recently and he is interested in doing a collaboration with me. Here I have attached some of his music to give a reference of his work:

Today I have met with Mello to record his vocals and to see how it works with my song and it sound pretty nice, to be honest in terms of the flow that the song has now with his lyrics on it. He has added more aggressiveness to the song by the tone of his voice and the way as he sings so the contrast between his voice and mine is very interesting.

And this one is a bounce that I have done today listening to my first version and comparing a better sound of quality version, which to be honest sounds a lot better than the first bounce that I did because the levels are more balanced my voice sounds clearer as same as the drums.

Today, I was invited to the house of one of the greatest Latin producers in London "El Genialista". I had the pleasure of meeting him personally and I was offered to make a collaboration with him too with my song but produced by him. So, I accepted and for reason of copyright I could not take a screenshot to show as evidence but I have the evidence of today's work in a bounce.

The new version of my song is very interesting and I might say that it works even better than my version. I am happy to see that people get interested in working with me even if I am none in the music industry at the moment.

REFLEXION OF THIS WEEK: This week apart from being productive, the fact that people get interested on my ideas is very comforting and also is a way for motivating myself to keep improving and moving forward to compose and making more and more. I still have so much to improve but I have the chance for taking the steps up.

Half term holiday advance

In this half term, I will be working on my song "I wanna know you". 4th/april/2018 Today, I recorded the introduction of the song, but first of all, I remembered one of the tips from one of literature review which says that always we have to record first the instruments with louder frequency, but I started recording the base of the guitar and then I started adding the instruments. This song is in pop but I will add the reggaeton patterns at the chorus. This is a recording of the introduction of the song: The following audio is the same recording but with the effects on it. I have added EQ, Compressor, Pedals, reverb, delay and a phaser to create that sound: the next audio is the intro with the bass melody and the piano melody. Bernhoft who uses the looping on his music to creates the melody in every single instrument. he uses a dynamical and an interesting range of different acoustic instruments, such as the bass, the percussion, the hooks and the second voices.
