Skills Audit

I have developed lots of musical skills overtime since I was four years old, when my mother motivated me to start in music classes in a private institute of arts in Colombia. At the beginning, It was funny because my first guitar was bigger than me but anyway I started into music world since I was child.

My skills as a musician are: my creativity at the time of playing music, I find easier to make variation of chords and creating good improvisations. Also, I find very easy to play different kind of instruments such as the guitar, the piano, the bass, the clarinet, the congas, the flute and my voice as a singer which helps me to participate in different roles as a music          player.

I really like to perform as part of a band or a good team for working. I think that the most important is not to be the best on the stage  at the time of playing music. I think, that what really makes you a musician is the way of being humble, approachable and friendly with your classmates or partners in the place where you work , basically the people who you share this passion. This characteristics that I mentioned are with the objective of making clearer that if I can help and giving as much as I can, I could give a good performance without feeling and acting as the unique superstar on the stage, which is very plausible that happens with many people who you are sharing making music and also it is very selfish if that happens. It makes me someone very helpful for making music because all of us at the time of playing, we have different responsibilities to do and if we understand that que need to help each other the result will be at the end a really good and excellent performance if we know to work as a team.

Me as a student: I could say that I have a very sickening ethic of studying , I think that does not matter what you are studying, It is the fact of enriching yourself in the topics and the world you are interested in. Moreover, I take very serious my time when I decide to study and I respect my place and members where I am studying. even though, I really feel that I have to follow the standards roles of my school , institute or university (wherever I am) and to arrive on time which is very important to be successful.

Paulo as a musician:
In my opinion, I think that Paulo is a very talented singer and he has a really good qualities that makes him a good classmate for making music. As I said before, to be humble and suitable at the time of making music and performing is very important for having tolerance each other and for feeling comfortable within environment. That is something that Paulo has at the time of sharing in class and when we have to complete tasks such as the workshop classes  and BTEC of singing.


Furthermore, he can play the guitar and he has some knowledge in playing piano, but the most important is that  he has a very soft voice that helps him to sing in a very high tone and in a very controlled variations which is very helpful at the time of creating originality and style. I really admire his creativity as a musician and his talent.

Paulo as a student: He is very responsible and focus with his passion and that is very good, also he is punctual and he takes seriously the music and his interests.

Half term holiday advance

In this half term, I will be working on my song "I wanna know you". 4th/april/2018 Today, I recorded the introduction of the song, but first of all, I remembered one of the tips from one of literature review which says that always we have to record first the instruments with louder frequency, but I started recording the base of the guitar and then I started adding the instruments. This song is in pop but I will add the reggaeton patterns at the chorus. This is a recording of the introduction of the song: The following audio is the same recording but with the effects on it. I have added EQ, Compressor, Pedals, reverb, delay and a phaser to create that sound: the next audio is the intro with the bass melody and the piano melody. Bernhoft who uses the looping on his music to creates the melody in every single instrument. he uses a dynamical and an interesting range of different acoustic instruments, such as the bass, the percussion, the hooks and the second voices. Also, he uses his voice to create repetitive phrases that contain like a Dj effect at the end of the phrase of the hook. He uses the loop pedal very well to create a live recording which is very interesting because he recreates an acoustic kind of instruments just with the guitar and his voices.
