Song of the week: Bailame/ dance me

Today I have recorded the song 'Bailame' that in English means 'Dance me' that I made in collaboration with C-Bry who was the composer of the song and I produced it as I also composed some of the lyrics of the song. the session was arranged in Sensible studios around King's Cross in the company of my producer Dukus who was in charge of the final mixing and mastering of the song as well as the direction of the recording. This session was an important prove of my project because I can see that my ideas can be taken in consideration by other people and also I can get interesting ideas from colleagues who love my Latin background too. 

Also, the good team-work prepared by practice and a good attitude. This was the first time that my colleague recorded a song, but it was a really good experience with him and to be part of it. In this session, I realized that I have good management of cooperation and understanding about working progressively to achieve a good product against any inconvenient.

Here, I have attached the videos of the session and the previous audio of the product which needs to be mastered by the end of this week by Dukus. Anyway, I am very happy about being the person who produced this track and also to be who impulsed all the ideas to make it happen. I am very happy also for my friend who is releasing his dreams and is also starting to construct his own way through the industry despite his difficulties. I am proud of all the constant work that I have been doing also despite all my personal problem, I have known how to move on with it and how to get new inspiration from all these emotions experienced. 

I know that I should make the final product for this song as I am a student of music performance. However, this song is going to be released by the end of this week or the next week on all the online platforms, so it needs to be properly mastered and professionally mixed and I honestly do not have enough knowledge of how to do it professionally. But I put this song as part of my project because is one of my EP's song that contains the progress of my music career as Jayffo and also as a student who explores the different spaces and learns content to improve.

 Today I have received a gift from a friend who is a graphic designer. Now I have officially my own Logo to be identified as my own brand. I am really happy about this because it starts to increase my career wider and more confident as Jayffo.

 This project is not only for progress at my idea of researching about the emotional changes by songs in different genres, modes, and lyrics in an EP, it is also about my progress as an artist during the development of my project and how I make myself to be known through the media.

Now I can say that I am officially my own brand, which is awesome because now I can post it in more places and events and people will start to identify me. This is iconic and representative for my own identity as an artist.

 Today I have a collaboration with my friend C-BRY of one the previous songs 'I am sorry/ Lo Siento' which consists more about the heartbreaking and a breaking up. However, the song is in C major key but the lyrics make it sound very sad. The reason for doing this song is also to experiment how the Ionian mode in C major that is more used to transmit happiness and joy, now it is going to be mixed with very sad lyrics. If we play a sequence of chords in 4/4 at 75 bpm, it sounds still happy, however, the feeling starts to be depressing when the lyrics come up.

 I just decided to make a kind remix of the song to consider if it sounds better with this voice on it or not, it is just experimentation.

 For today's session, my friend C-Bry suddenly booked a session for a photo studio which objective was to have the picture for the cover of our new song 'Bailame' which is going to be released as soon as we get the master of the track by Monday of the next week. 

 On top of that, I have a very positive vibe that this song is going to be a bomb to progress and to be known by more people who might like the style and the energy of this new song. It is really positive to come up with more music because it is going to show new interesting Latin material.

 Here, I have attached the photos of today's session and also the official picture was chosen for the cover of the song which was sent by our photographer:






After today's session. we were discussing which picture could have been the best for the cover of 'Bailame' but we stayed with the first with the titles on it. However, these pictures are very useful for our social media and maybe for the cover of our next song.

REVIEW ABOUT MY CONCERT TODAY AT NIGHT:

I want to mention that today I had my performance at the Reggaeton Live event in Dingwalls at Camden town at 00:00, it was a really late performance, but it was a really good experience about how people accepted my music and how they felt very engaged with my songs too. I received very good feedback as also I met new people who want me to work with them later in new projects.


This experience of being Jayffo at the stage and starting to feel this transformation is comforting about the fact that all the effort that I am doing right now to make this happen and to make it real, really worth it.

as I also want to say that earlier in the morning I assisted to the Latin music conference at King's College where there was very interesting record label offers and very interesting deals coming up for the Latin talented artist in London.

Half term holiday advance

In this half term, I will be working on my song "I wanna know you". 4th/april/2018 Today, I recorded the introduction of the song, but first of all, I remembered one of the tips from one of literature review which says that always we have to record first the instruments with louder frequency, but I started recording the base of the guitar and then I started adding the instruments. This song is in pop but I will add the reggaeton patterns at the chorus. This is a recording of the introduction of the song: The following audio is the same recording but with the effects on it. I have added EQ, Compressor, Pedals, reverb, delay and a phaser to create that sound: the next audio is the intro with the bass melody and the piano melody. Bernhoft who uses the looping on his music to creates the melody in every single instrument. he uses a dynamical and an interesting range of different acoustic instruments, such as the bass, the percussion, the hooks and the second voices. Also, he uses his voice to create repetitive phrases that contain like a Dj effect at the end of the phrase of the hook.
