EXP - PROPOSAL
INTRODUCTION
The following extended project consists in the realisation of an EP of seven songs that will be developed to analyse the change of mood of a person who listens to it. The seven songs will have an analysis of the use of modes on them, even the use of the same chords for some songs but with different modes.
Also, this project contains the artistic development of Jayffo by releasing these songs in all the online platforms to see how people react to his music through the process of completing this project. It is really important to get into performances and gigs to document how people get engaged by Jayffo's music and how they feel about them as an EP.
On top of that, I will create the EP thinking about how I can make a transition from a student to an artist, how it feels like to live an artist live and how it is to how with other people outside the academic environment. I want to test myself through the process of meeting people and getting known.

The reason for working with different modes is because the modes can manipulate the sensations and emotions depending on the way that they are used. To be clearer, I want to have a playlist of songs together in an Ep with completely different contexts that transmit contrasting tastes to change emotionally.
Also, the use of different genres such as Bachata, Salsa, Reggaeton, Trap Reggae, Trap and ballad- pop and pop will also influence the studies in the way that the listener has to focus on all the different rhythmical and melodic content that is listening to.
CONTEXT
I have chosen to work in this particular area of modes and different rhythms, firstly because I a genre fluid artist and I like to be eclectic in creating music from wherever the idea comes from. Especially, I enjoy listening to music from different genres at the same time which is the centre for my curiosity of making music playing with the modes to help me to understand them better and to taste different points of composition from different genres.
As part of my personal project of releasing my first album, I will create my songs based on the title of my album which is 'Teenager's feelings' from whom experiences in life have been mine, I plan to transmit all my feelings through my lyrics. If I compose songs that encourage all the common-different emotions that a teenagers experiments while they grow up and become proper adults, I will create an album that changes the mood of people by listening to lyrics very catchy, sad, happy, romantic, motivating, depressing and etc.
AREAS OF RESEARCH
- Deep research to my past, my present and my future in terms of looking for moments of my life or wishes that I have had to help me to get inspiration about the lyrics for the songs.
- To investigate in the areas of psychology about how the changes of mood can be affected by music and how the human being can help itself to communicate by the music and to transmit what we cannot describe sometimes.
- To make surveys in a range of 20 to 10 people about what they feel when they listen to my album (Hopefully I will publish it on SoundCloud where they will get access to it).
- To explore found sounds in my recording sessions to create melodies and to compose something interesting to add to my music.
- To analyse the different modes that exist and to compose logically thinking about how to create interesting moods and emotions through the melodies.
- To collaborate with some of my classmates for some of my songs where I need some narrative and different sounds of the voice.
METHODOLOGY
- I will arrange sessions in the production rooms with my classmates to help me with my music and also I will book sessions outside the college to collaborate with friends and colleagues from my personal life to help me to make some music as well for my EP.
- I will divide my time to do research the first week and the rest I will spend my time to record music and to compose.
- I will try to get into concerts and performances to sing my songs and to see how people react to them. I want to experiment with the fact of being in live stages in front of people who do not expect anything from me and that also could be interested in knowing who I am.
- I want to have a continuous review from the people who are listening to my music online and to see how the audience is growing or not through the time that I start to release my music.
TIMELINE
- In the first week, I will make whole research about understanding modes and how the music affects emotionally the brain of the human being. Also, I will research how people help themselves listening to music. In a few words, I will make the entire research of what I want to see as a result when I finish my EP.
- In the second week, I will start to compose the third song for my EP as I already have two songs. One from the previous project FMP from the last year, which is 'Nueve Letras' in English 'Nine Letters' and 'Mirala' which is a song that I performed for my Solo performance in the Harrison gig and I will retake them for this project. But also I will analyse the mode that is more convenient for this song and how It makes me feel. I will start to record every song weekly.
- In the third week, I will start to compose the fourth song and I will make a review of the difference between this new idea and the previous one and then producing and recording.
- In the fourth week, I will try to speed up in composing two more songs, producing and recording them.
- In the Fifth week, I will contact my friends and music colleagues to make some collaborations, but also I will try to compose some new ideas to offer to them.
- In the break time of spring term, I will have some events coming up and I will take this chance to make some new contacts of artists and to try to make some collaborations.
- In the sixth week, I will start to produce and record the content that I have with my colleagues and I will add these new songs in my EP. Then I will analyse how these ideas are different in terms of modes to the other ones.
- In the seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelveth and thirteenth week, I will see what is more for my project because right now I am not really sure of what I going to be happening after the sixth week so I will be continuing writing reports.
