Week number 3- Kate Bush's week

This week was from the 14th of November until the 18th of November. This week was very controversial, so that, most of my classmates on Tuesday at Band workshop class with the teacher Keith Moline, were very uninterested for Kate Bush's song " hounds of love", which was very difficult to rehearsal because basically in few words, they did not like it. As a result, they were not engaged to perform it as correct as it should have been.

However, We created a sequence of chords that in fact, I am not sure if that was the right key. But, we decided to play the song with the same lyrics but with different tempo and melody. To develop a rehearsal that is what we had to do, compulsory.

 In my opinion, I think that this kind of behaviour is not the right attitude of a musician and also, I have to contrast that not at all times we are going to play something that we will like. This is part of the programme, to teach new techniques and theory to achieve our target of growing as musicians. In my personal point of view, I did not like the song from kate bush for personal reasons but it is the responsibility of us to engage with the task that is part of the programme even when the material that there is might not like it.

Also, I would like to say that the way as we rehearsed was messy but when we performed the song we tryed to enjoy it. We worked as a team to get the right key to the song, but this was what really happened. In addition, I have to recognise that sometimes we have to take more seriously the band workshop.

The target for this rehearsal was basically,  to play the song of Kate Bush in the right key with different instruments that were not from the original song and also, to develop a practice of a musical genre that currently we can recognise it as a hit of the advance in the music industry from the 1980's as an advance in technology. Also, to add a  new dynamic to the song to contrast it with our own style of playing music.

I have focused more on this week,  the use of the guitar in the song as part of the main melody. Also, to improvise more to create new styles of melody into de song. The things that I did this week were to play guitar in the song and trying to get a total congruence with the drums player, to create an interesting material for the song.

My target for next week is to improve and to focus more seriously as a disciplined student to get a better achievement.

Half term holiday advance

In this half term, I will be working on my song "I wanna know you". 4th/april/2018 Today, I recorded the introduction of the song, but first of all, I remembered one of the tips from one of literature review which says that always we have to record first the instruments with louder frequency, but I started recording the base of the guitar and then I started adding the instruments. This song is in pop but I will add the reggaeton patterns at the chorus. This is a recording of the introduction of the song: The following audio is the same recording but with the effects on it. I have added EQ, Compressor, Pedals, reverb, delay and a phaser to create that sound: the next audio is the intro with the bass melody and the piano melody. Bernhoft who uses the looping on his music to creates the melody in every single instrument. he uses a dynamical and an interesting range of different acoustic instruments, such as the bass, the percussion, the hooks and the second voices. Also, he uses his voice to create repetitive phrases that contain like a Dj effect at the end of the phrase of the hook. He uses the loop pedal very well to create a live recording which is very interesting because he recreates an acoustic kind of instruments just with the guitar and his voices.
