Week number 2 - Stevie wonder's week

This week was from the 7th of November until the 11th of November. This week was very enjoyable because most of my classmates were very engaged in performing Stevie Wonder's song "Superstitious", which was a rehearsal on Tuesday at Band workshop class with the teacher Keith Moline.

Also, I would like to say that the way as we rehearsed was very fun and entertaining. We worked as a team to get the right key to the song, as well as the good environment that we created for the rehearsal. However, I have to recognise that sometimes we have to take more seriously the band workshops but, this song is very rhythmical and we liked, we had the fun of it to enjoy more the rehearsal.

The target for this rehearsal was basically,  to play the song of Stevie Wonder in the right key with different instruments that were not from the original song and also, to develop a practice of a musical genre that currently we can recognise it as a hit of the advance in the music industry from the 1970's and also to add a  new dynamic to the song to contrast it with our own style of playing music. However, we have to have the new techniques that this kind of music brings as the use of special effects but, that is part of our learning.

I have focused more on this week,  the use of the guitar into the song as part of the main melody. Also, to improvise more to create new styles of melody into de song. The things that I did this week were to play guitar in the song and trying to get a total congruence with the piano player, to create an interesting material for the song.

My target for next week is to improve and to focus more seriously as a disciplined student to get a better achievement.

Half term holiday advance

In this half term, I will be working on my song "I wanna know you". 4th/april/2018 Today, I recorded the introduction of the song, but first of all, I remembered one of the tips from one of literature review which says that always we have to record first the instruments with louder frequency, but I started recording the base of the guitar and then I started adding the instruments. This song is in pop but I will add the reggaeton patterns at the chorus. This is a recording of the introduction of the song: The following audio is the same recording but with the effects on it. I have added EQ, Compressor, Pedals, reverb, delay and a phaser to create that sound: the next audio is the intro with the bass melody and the piano melody. Bernhoft who uses the looping on his music to creates the melody in every single instrument. he uses a dynamical and an interesting range of different acoustic instruments, such as the bass, the percussion, the hooks and the second voices. Also, he uses his voice to create repetitive phrases that contain like a Dj effect at the end of the phrase of the hook. He uses the loop pedal very well to create a live recording which is very interesting because he recreates an acoustic kind of instruments just with the guitar and his voices.
