IDENTITY

Short bio/statement – who are you, what do you do and why are you interesting?

 Juan Jose Estrada Sepulveda or 'Jayfo' is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer who has a genre-fluid style for making music.  His compositions are influenced by his Latin background but he researches into American and British music to help him to mix his music, even though Spanish is his first language, he also makes music in English.

His ideas of creating music are eclectic, given to his recent music that shows mixtures between trap and reggae, pop with reggaeton and ballad with R & B. His main focus is to make music and to discover his identity through the way as he makes music which is why he mixes genres."I  discover new music through my music."  - Jayfo.

Achieved in the past:

- Several gigs as a conga player, singer and clarinettist in a salsa orchestra from Colombia.
- performed Open Mics in different bars and birthdays which helped to improve the confidence to do not be shy any more.
- Recording of my first song 'Nine letters'
- improvement in knowledge about composition and production by using the programme of  Logic Pro X which was unknown and I did not know how to use it.
- Improvement about singing in English.
- Successful application for university.


Achieved in the present:

- The gain of clarity and confidence about the artistic and personal identity.
- Further progress in the composition of "Teenager's feelings' album.
- Preparation for the Harrison gig due to the 11/02/2019.
- Gain of security and clarity about the identity.
 - improvement about playing the drums.
- improvement about pitch and tuning at the time of singing.
- improvement about paying the piano.
- improvement in mixing and understanding of terms used technically in the music industry and studios.
- improvement in the support offered as a player of a band.
- The gain for more creativity to create music and using found sounds.
- The offer from the City university of London to study Music, sound and technology which is the most wished opportunity to take advantage of.

Due to achieve in the future:

- The recording of the first video clip of the song 'nine letters' for the album 'Teenager's feelings.
- Releasing 'nine letters' on Spotify, Youtube, Itunes, Deezer and the rest of platforms online that will help to increase experience and material as well as gaining land in the world of the music industry as an independent artist.
- To pass all the exams and to achieve an outstanding result in the UAL diploma to enter under the conditional offer of the City university of London.
-  To gain followers and fans during 2019 to start my music career as an independent artist and to motivate myself to keep studying to be the multi-task musician that I want to be one day.

- To have a very outstanding performance in the Harrison gig and share the new songs due to record very soon.

- To release at least 8 songs for the album 'Teenager's feelings'.

Visual identity – logo ideas, photos, image…

These pair of glasses are an aviator style which I like so much, even because I identify them as a classical style that helps me to feed my personality and confidence and if I start to wear them, I might feel more sure of myself and more powerful.

The haircuts of these pictures are my favourite preferences and I am trying to get that kind of hair cut. I feel more myself showing this kind of hair cut, that is because fits more with my personality and I do not know why, but I would feel amazing with one of those haircuts. As an artist, I have to show a good-looking and I think that that is my kind of style.

This particular chain has an amazing design that makes me feel excited about wearing it. Mainly because gold means something special and also means strength to me. Every day, I have to fight against myself to be better and to achieve my dreams and I think that to wear this kind of chains will help me so much to believe in myself.

NOTE: I DO NOT WANT TO SHOW OFF WEARING THIS KIND OF LUXURIOUS JEWELLERY, IT IS JUST TO FEED MY PERSONALITY AND MY ARTISTIC ROLE.

Marketing – social media, press, photo, video…

I am developing my profiles and fan page on Facebook, Instagram, and youtube. Through the pass of the time, I will be releasing my music along with my videos, pictures, and performances.

I have been investing in my music career by promoting myself in social media. I feel that it is good to sponsor my self as Jayfo.

At the moment I am just trying to achieve a target of £100 monthly to divide those 100 in 33 per each social media ( Youtube, Facebook and Instagram), so more people can reach my music. The last year, I published one video of a cover and I decided to promote it by sponsoring myself on Instagram and actually the video has got over 7000 views, which means that It is really useful to invert on marketing for my music and videos.

However, I will also try to share my content with my family and friends. So they also can help me to promote my music. Even, I have some friends that they are willing to sponsor me, as same as my family. It is very positive because I can have a good start.

I keep working all the time and that is my way of getting my own stuff for creating music. On the other hand, I try to invest in producers to help me to achieve the best sound of quality while I become as Professional as I want to be the owner of my own studios and making my music and promoting my brand as a solo artist and producer.

I do not want to copy someone else's dream, I want to be unique and I want to develop my professional career through my growth. But first I need to start to build my own land. That is why I am planning to promote myself in social media while I get further.
