HIP HOP WEEK 2 (16/01/19 - 17/01/19)

Wednesday 16/01/19

During this week, we have arranged completely the entire cover of the song 'Through the wire' and now we have moved on to our new composition in hip hop.

I have started to play a chord progression in E minor, just to have a base. Then, we have put some ideas and we have rehearsed a hipothetic version of our new song. Ashley started to use the lyrics of one of her songs and we could carry on with something today. Let's see how it goes tomorrow, but we are pregressing quickly with the new composition.

Thursday 17/01/19

Today, we have changed the key of thew compostion just to give more comfortability to our singer. So, we passed from Em to Dm and then ashley brought more lyrics, we just have to work harder the next week because there are still some parts we need to arrange the song better.

However, my drum beats are more off-beat and that ideas was really good to make a bit different the beats from the previous cover that we have arranged.

Half term holiday advance

In this half term, I will be working on my song "I wanna know you". 4th/april/2018 Today, I recorded the introduction of the song, but first of all, I remembered one of the tips from one of literature review which says that always we have to record first the instruments with louder frequency, but I started recording the base of the guitar and then I started adding the instruments. This song is in pop but I will add the reggaeton patterns at the chorus. This is a recording of the introduction of the song: The following audio is the same recording but with the effects on it. I have added EQ, Compressor, Pedals, reverb, delay and a phaser to create that sound: the next audio is the intro with the bass melody and the piano melody. Bernhoft who uses the looping on his music to creates the melody in every single instrument. he uses a dynamical and an interesting range of different acoustic instruments, such as the bass, the percussion, the hooks and the second voices. Also, he uses his voice to create repetitive phrases that contain like a Dj effect at the end of the phrase of the hook.
