Easter gig
Easter gig evaluation
During the last few weeks at workshop classes, we have been composing a song which involves everyone as well as the technology.
In this performance, we achieved the interpretation of the song, but unfortunately we felt that It could have been better, so that in rehearsals it was more emotional and exiting. However, I think that we did pretty well in this gig, however in rehearsals we had some problems with the changes of key in between the bridges and the chorus.
Other remarkable point is that, the singers in the last rehearsals were struggling about the pitch and the tuning of the song but I think that in this gig they did really good. In addition, we had some rehearsals where some of the integrants came and some of them did not. Therefore, that complicated a bit the quality of getting the whole song played properly.
In this gig, also I would like to contrast the fact that guitar players usually in the rehearsals played an instrumental solo that there is in the song, but unfortunately in this gig the did not do it as they were expected to do it as their point of view and opinion.
I was playing the piano, and I have to accept that I was using an effect of the keyboard that worked as a bells sound, but I did mistakes at the beginning of the song because the progression of chords has D major not D minor, and It was played on D major in some bars. I think I made that mistakes because I was more focused on getting the syncopated melody within the gaps, so I definitely forgot to play the D.
In conclusion, the gig was really good, I felt confident on the stage and also everyone, however we can do it better.
