Personal statement

PERSONAL STATEMENT I would like to further my studies because I have the confidence that I will achieve my targets through my studies in this course. The enrichment of education that I could receive is very wide and deep, such as the emphasis in the practice and analysis of the music, technology management, composition and innovating development as a student for tomorrow's future. This focus will take advantage of my potential as a musician, songwriter, producer and sound engineer. I am interested in studying this course because I have an ambitious desire for learning, continuously developing my musical skills, improving my knowledge about my main interests and achieving my goals as a professional in the music industry.   The first time that I experienced a music course was when I was five years old. Since that time I have attended music courses of vocals, guitar and music theory but also I have learned the most of my practice at the Orchestra from my school...

DISCO - STYLE Disco is a genre influenced by R&B and previous genres in the 1970s such as the soul at the end of the 1960s.  The pop was the top of the head but once the Disco arrived it started to be very catchy and even collaborated by Latin influence performances. Also, Disco started to be recognised by the strong use of strings and musical unison phrases after the base melody created by the piano and the guitar. With beats taken from the funk which were clearly syncopated. The sound tends to be very bright and surrounding by harmonies in the background. The 4/4 strong kick beat is one important feature of disco because the rhythmical speed makes of Disco danceable music. As well as the instruments used such as the bright electric guitar sound, synths and strong drumming. Wednesday 26/09/2018 Today at workshop class, we were introduced into the disco music which clearly seems to be very speedy and rhythmic. However, there are many aspects...

SOLO PERFORMANCE CLASS WEEK 2 ( 24/09/2018)

Dynamics Today at Solo performance class, we worked with dynamics. First of all, we sang a cover of any song and then, we started to analyse different songs from different genres with interesting types of dynamics. Previously, an exercise was assigned to us which was to sing our previous cover but we had to do it by the direction of any of our team by looking at their hand. The hand was going up and down  to indicate volume in different levels, such as : ppp (pianississimo), pp (pianissimo), p (piano), mp (mezzopiano) , mf (mezzoforte), f (forte), ff (fortissimo), fff (fortississimo),  sf/sfz/fz (sforzando). But also,  we have the use of dynamic at < (crescendo) and > (decrescendo). Anyway, the lesson was quite interesting because the exercise of playing with dynamics was really hard and most of us we struggled with it. To control your voice and an instrument meanwhile you are playing both at the same time requires to be focused and also having...

Wednesday 19th/09/2018 Today at workshop class, we rehearsed once the song "Papa was a rolling stone", but suddenly, we changed of mind and we decided to compose our own song. I am really impressed by this workshop class because eventually, the melody of this new song has come up of my mind unsurprisingly. I started to play some notes in C#, and then the idea started to be developed between our improvisation of trying to get the lyrics to it. The good attitude and the good intention of doing this composition make this workshop really work, I feel very well for the idea that just came up suddenly in the rehearsal. I hope to improve the song all together this week and the next one. Here, I have attached the screenshot of the lyrics that we composed today trying to talk about childhood:  Thursday 20th/09/2018 Today at band workshop class, we assembled better our composition. apparently, the song now has more sense and better l...

Psychedelic Soul Psychedelic soul or Black rock is a genre which was originated at the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1970s, influenced by the characteristic of drugs, effects units such as the wah-wah pedal, phaser, delay and etc. This genre has a strong use of distortion in the guitar and very remarkable use of psychedelic synths which creates the recognizable sound of psychedelia. However, the mix of soul makes this genre rhythmically atmospheric and it used to be accompanied by visuals and imagery to create that psychedelia too. -Translated from  Spanish "Sly and the Family Stone" or "Funkadelic" whose rhythms, although they were focused on Soul and Funk, mixed clear influences of psychedelic music, which sometimes featured distorted guitars, psychedelic effects and even scenes with costumes and surreal images. to bring ecstasy and madness to the fans who came to their concerts." - psicodélico, S.
