Critical analysis: How does my work fit into the music industry? My work specifically fits into the music industry as an Album (It was an EP at the beginning but it increased over time) to be distributed through the online platforms such as Youtube, Soundcloud, Spotify, Itunes, Apple music, Idol, Amazon, Google Play, Instagram, Facebook and etcetera. The reason why I am saying that my music is a material to be distributed is because my music has been composed, produced and arranged to be commercial, as well as it contains current mainstream vibes (what people is listening to actually), that can influence very effectively the Latin music industry as today it has a very wide and international impact. My focus is to compose and produce music, mainly more aimed to transmit the Latin vibes which encourage my background as a south-American citizen who really enjoys the reggaeton, Latin-pop, salsa, bachata and etcetera. Besides, the collaborations approached along my way in this ca...

Song of the week: Bailame/Dance me Monday Through the artistic development of my best friend Bryan from whom the artistic name is C-Bry, I want to support his compositions helping him with the production of the instrumentals. He has come to me today at home to show me his song and even if he did not know how to sing it or how to create the melody of it, I have come up with an idea because the lyrics really liked me. We have started a rehearsing session at about 10 pm from today and since that time we stayed till 5 am in the morning from Tuesday. All the night working in the song and making the production of the track straight away. He was a bit shy about singing for me to see how he sounds, but over the development of the session he has got confidence and we could arrange something interesting. This song is called 'Dance me' which is very upbeat and very catchy, it is more a danceable and party song talking about flirting and conquering a girl by dancing at a part...

Literature review

The University of Edinburgh, Brand Essentials Volumen 3.  Ed.ac.uk. (2019). [online] Available at: https://www.ed.ac.uk/files/atoms/files/chapter_one_-_logo_guide.pdf [Accessed 12 Jun. 2019]. In this article, the importance of a logo for an institution is more than a brand as mention in page number five in the first paragraph " It is important that the University of Edinburgh the logo is presented in a strong and consistent the manner in order to achieve maximum impact. Through consistent use, our values, research, students and staff will all be represented to a global audience that will allow us to continue influencing the world.". I personally take this quotation as a good reason for creating a Logo, it is not about the fact of identifying an institution, it is about obtaining the recognition and influence in the people that have been part of this place that has given them an education and formation to be who they want to be. They will carry this identity wherever they g...

Song of the week: No te olvidare / I will not forget you For this week I have not done any report of college work because I have received a very bad, sad and devastating new.  My cousin was raped, tortured, murdered and used by a criminal gang in Colombia. I know this is part of my personal life, but since I can not be there to support my family, I have decided to make a song in honour of her. Send this song to my country to be reproduced by the media as a message of encouragement and resignation in the face of what happened. This atrocious fact has been a cause of offence and concern in the city of Cartago, Valle del Cauca, Colombia where the murder of my cousin took place. In addition, there have been marches and much controversy. However, I have decided to add this song to my album, because I think it is worthwhile to convey my message and keep in mind that this pain was the inspiration to compose this song called 'I will not forget you'. I have composed it ...

Broader contextualization

Life and music career of Maluma, Reykon, Karol G and J Balvin (case studies relating to my project) As part of my case studies, I am going to analyse these documentaries about four of my favourite Latin artists who have been through transitions and transformations that have made them who they are today. The reason for choosing them is because in each of them I reflect myself in a different way which I am going to explain right now and also because it is part of my project in the way as I am trying to become from Juan to Jayffo: 1) let's start with Maluma. He is a Colombian singer who made his music career based on his family and their support. Since he was a kid he used to sing karaoke's at his family's parties and celebrations and since then his family started to support his talent. However, His focus was more for being a Football player which definitely was his passion too. At his age of 15-16 years old, he decided to leave the football team and to start hi...
