Keith's band workshop week 8 SHOEGAZE

Image
Shoegaze  Wednesday 21/11/2018 Today at band workshop, we rehearsed the song 'Soon' by My Bloody Valentine. Basically the last lessons we just had an idea about what the structure of the lyrics was and the musical rhythm. However, it was so hard for us to find interesting the song assigned in terms of personal likes, but anyway we tried to give a clearer order today and a better understanding about what is going on in the songs with a deeper analysis. On the other hand, I think that we need to improve our discipline in terms of arranging more seriously the cover that is assigned to us, otherwise there is no point for this band workshops. The point is to arrange a song in a way where we communicate with each other better and clearer. Thursday 22/11/19

SOLO PERFORMANCE WEEK 8

Today at Chloe's lesson, we were matched in groups of two and three people. We focused more our time in rehearsing the repertoire for the Harrison gig that is due to January in 2019. However, we were discussing most of the time about what and how we are going to arrange the songs to be accompanying each other as a trio, duo or solo performer. There was a bit of confusion about how we suppose to perform rightly and confidently because the fact of performing alone and accompanied, takes more rehearses and time to arrange an outstanding performance. I have been planing more to perform about 5 songs that contrast each other with the transmission of different emotions (sadness, happiness, angriness, etc..), and also the use of techniques learnt during the last lessons (dynamics, tempo, moods).

Keith's band workshop Indie rock (14/11/18 - 15/11/18)

Indie rock Indie rock is the music that emerged in the 1980s. When referring to indie, you refer to the bands and not to the genre, the indie music does not have a defined sound and is characterized by having different musical proposals that are not within the common. The term "indie" comes from the independent word, and all the music that reaches the public by its own means, that is, without a record label that supports them, falls into this category. Wednesday 14/11/18 Today at band workshop, we rehearsed for last time our own song in blue's style. But also, we were introduced to Indie rock. However, today we arranged better the blue's style because the sessions from the last week were really messy in terms of structuring a melody and trying to get the whole song. Also, today we arranged better the tempo and the way as we communicate with each other to give everyone space into the song for a better assemble. Thursday 15/11/18 ...

Portfolio - Research and Planning

Image
PORTFOLIO 1)     What are your career goals – where do you want to be? Be as specific as possible – identify people/record labels/companies/brands/venues that you want to work with. As an explorer for my future in the music industry, I look forward to my main career goals for becoming a sound engineer, a professional musician, a composer but also a producer.  I have desirable targets which  mainly are focusing on releasing my own music, increasing popularity in my image as a single artist in media and the improvement of my ideas to be entirely unique and original.  In addition, I will be investing in my own project as an independent producer, the construction of my own brand and the continuation of experiences as a solo performer in several kinds of venues around the world. However, I want to be in the best recording studios working as a sound engineer, producer and recording my music. Travelling to experien...

EXP - PROPORSAL

These questions below, will help me to get a more concrete idea about what I really want to achieve with my EXP: HOW TO FIX EMOTIONAL SITUATIONS WITH MUSIC? HOW TO APPROACH TO SOMEONE'S THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS BY THE USE OF MUSIC IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS? HOW TO ACHIEVE A TARGET BY THE USE OF MUSIC? HOW THE MUSIC INFLUENCES PSYCHOLOGICALLY THE DECISION AND THOUGHTS OF PEOPLE These could be some ideas to show clearer my purpose for the exp: RECORD A VIDEO WHERE I READ A DISCOURSE OR A POEM WITH AND WITHOUT MUSIC.  RECORD A VIDEO WHERE SOMETHING IS GOING ON WITH THE USE OF MUSIC AND WITHOUT MUSIC EXAMPLE : USE A PURPOSE OF MARRIAGE WITH AND WITHOUT MUSIC. CREATE AN EP OR ALBUM WITH SONGS OF THAT TRANSMIT DIFFERENT MOODS AND CONTAIN THE TECHNIQUES LEARNT AT CHLOE'S WORKSHOPS. I REALLY WANT TO COMPOSE ABOUT 5 TO 6 SONGS THAT EVOKES DIFFERENT EMOTIONS, IT WOULD BE SOMETHING LIKE A SAD SONG, A HAPPY SONG, A PARTY-GOING SONG, A ROMANTIC SONG, ETC... THE MUSIC I...

SOLO PERFORMANCE WEEK 7

At today's workshop we performed the song that we did the first time before learning the use of important techniques that make a performance more interesting (Dynamics, tempo variations, extreme of sounds and the transmission of mood by changing the key of a song and the tempo), but with the difference that now we applied all those techniques learnt. The point was to be filmed to catch all the remarkable differences between the first performance and the last one with and without techniques. After the performance, we were divided in couples to talk about the Harrison gig that will be soon. At the moment I do not have a clear idea about what song I am going to play at all, I have some ideas but I need to arrange the proper plan to successfully complete an outstanding performance.

SOLO PERFORMANCE WEEK 6

Moods about the music Today at Chloe's workshop we talked about the different moods that can be transmitted in music. Specifically, all the emotions that can be produced by listening to any song. However, if we change the mood of  a song by changing the key to minor or major or maybe to speed up or slowing down the tempo the song will the feeling and mood completely in a different interpretation. I would say that the workshop today was very interesting because the fact that we can adjust the emotions that can be transmitted to an audience in the changes of dynamics and pitch can be very useful to perform in unique styles.

Keith's band workshop week 6 ( 7/11/18 - 8/11/18)

During this week we worked at our own song in blue's style. We have not recorded any video because we did not have any concrete idea and also, we have been arranging chords and melodies to come up with something for next week's band workshop. However, our singer is composing some lyrics that for the next week we will take as an idea to arrange better the new song. Also, I have been practising at home some improvisation and progression of chords to give more ideas as well.
