Review Two

What was the content of the performance? The content of the performances was basically, the interpretation of modern songs that are actually famous and contemporaneous. I do not know very clearly what the name of most of the songs that were performed, but what I could infer was that some material was composed of them. On top of that, I would like to add the fact that some of the groups developed their own style even when the material was not composed for them at all, but it was really cool to take place from that idea.  Were the performers successful in engaging the audience? First of all, the first two groups had something very interesting to perform and I could say that they demonstrated their effort as a band, as well as their constant rehearsals, to achieve that experience and confidence on the stage. However, in my opinion, I think that they should have achieved a better engagement from the audience if they had tried more interaction with the...

Decades Worksheet

1960s JAMES BROWN - FUNK CHORDS The funk music is particularly recognised by its seventh chords and ninths, which creates that remarkable funky style. James Brown uses most of his songs with just a couple of chords, therefore that shows that the material of the song is not very complex but on the other hand, it is an essential effect that provokes a good feeling to audience (because to its happy melody). The funk has a huge camp for having the chance of experimenting and exploring new material with any instrument and also, helps to create new composition. 1960s JAMES BROWN - FUNK RHYTHMS The funk rhythms of James Brown is more emphasised in creating danceable music atmosphere. Furthermore, If we go through the melody, we can identify that the rhythm is complex.  The drums in a slower tempo show that the rhythm is created by syncopation and on beat. At the same time,  it is hard to keep an offbeat and on beat struct...

Analogue to digital conversion (ADC)

ADC ( Analogue to Digital Converter) The sound is transferred from analogue to digital conversion. Analogue Sound It is the compression and rarefaction received by the human ear. Digital Audio This is the format that interprets  sounds converted into digital numbers (well-known as binary code), that will be stored in any device where you will be replaying the sounds or recording the sound. Keywords to interpret a sound: When we are going to digitalize a sound, we have to have present that the wave has two very important components that show the compressions and refractions : frequency and amplitude: Amplitude (Bit Depth) This determinates the amplitude and the accuracy of the sounds. The amplitude of sounds measures the volume of a sound, also we could say that with the amplitude we can identify how loud or low is the sound. Frequency (Sample rate) Frequency is the number of circles per second. Furthermore, we ...
